Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Therapy Program
by Melissa J. Roth, PhD
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), is a complex and debilitating disorder characterized by profound fatigue that is not improved by bed rest and that may be worsened by physical or mental activity. Most clients also report various non-specific symptoms, including: weakness, muscle pain, impaired memory and/or mental concentration, insomnia and post-activity fatigue lasting more than 24-hours. CFS affects each individual differently. A number of illnesses have been described that have similar symptoms to CFS, and these include: fibromyalgia syndrome, myalgic encephalomyelitis, neurasthenia, multiple chemical sensitivities and chronic mononucleosis. Although these illnesses may present with a primary symptom other than fatigue, chronic fatigue is commonly associated with all of them. There are a large number of treatable illnesses that can result in fatigue, some of them life threatening. Therefore, it is necessary to have gotten a thorough evaluation by your physician to rule out these conditions prior to using any adjunctive therapy. This hypnotherapy program has demonstrated to provide symptom relief from the major CFS symptoms. It has also demonstrated improved functioning and a return to a more normal lifestyle.
